「なにしおはば」は「なにしおわば」、「あふさかやま」は「おおさかやま」と読みます。

この歌を現代の言葉に訳してみましたが、これだけだと何のことなのか、さっぱりわからないですね。言葉をわけて、もう少しくわしく説明してみます。

名にし負わば：あまり使いませんが、今の言葉では「名にし負う」です。「有名な、みんなが知っているぐらい立派な」という意味です。
逢坂山：「おおさかやま」と読みますが、大阪の山ではありません。京都の東にある山です。逢う（会う）という漢字があるので、「逢坂山を越える」という表現は「困難を越えて思う人に会いに行く」という意味でよく使われました。
さねかずら：植物の名前です。また、「一緒に寝る」という意味の「さね」という言葉が当時あり、「さねかずら」という言葉に、二つの意味を持たせています。

さねかずら (sanekazura)
This is the name of a plant. In classical Japanese, the word “sane” could also mean “to sleep together.” So the word sanekazura carries a double meaning in this context.
くる (kuru)
Just like today, it can mean “to come,” but it also had the meaning “to manipulate” or “to pull (someone).”
待っている人がいるなら、行けばいいのにと思ってしまいますが、今の私たちには想像もできない事情があったのでしょう。このさねかずらの枝をひっぱったら彼女来ないかなという妄想がおもしろいですね。
When we read this, we might think, If someone’s waiting, why not just go and see them? But back then, there were likely situations and restrictions we can’t even imagine today. The idea of pulling a vine and bringing your beloved to you is such an interesting delusion.
