Spring storms are luring cherry blossoms ~

It’s already the end of March. The cherry blossoms are late blooming this year, but they have started to bloom a little in my neighborhood.
I would like to introduce a poem about cherry blossoms and storms. During the cherry blossom season, it often rains. Strong winds blow on some days. I wonder if there will be any blossoms left until the day I go out to see the cherry blossoms.

It’s not (the cherry flowers like) snow in the garden
What is falling is
That’s me, myself

The Japanese word for “誘う” is “invite,” but in the poem ”花誘う” is used to mean “the strong wind is scattering the cherry blossoms.
The English word for “降る” is “fall. Also, “年を経る” means “the years pass” or “I grow old. ”ふりゆくもの” is a play on two words: “that which is falling (cherry blossoms)” and “that which is growing old (the writer).” “言葉をかける/Words-over-words” is the technique of using words with different meanings and the same sound to express two meanings in a single word.

The storm is luring the cherry blossoms to scatter their blossoms like snow in the garden. But I guess what is sprinkling (and getting old) are not flowers, but me.

There are many poems about cherry blossoms, but most of them are about the feeling of falling. I guess the falling cherry blossoms more move people than those in full bloom. In this poem, the poet superimposes his age on the falling cherry blossoms. I can imagine various feelings.
